CRIC offers a range of seminars designed to address the critical intersection of behavioral health and ministry. These training opportunities equip clergy, church leaders, and judicatory staff with practical tools and evidence-based knowledge to support healthier leaders and congregations. With flexible formats—from 40-minute sessions to 6-hour workshops—we provide content tailored to your organization’s needs.

Topics We Cover

  • Pastoral Care & Substance Use Disorders Training
    4 & 6 Hour In Person and Modular Online trainings. These experiences cover the basics of substance use disorders and process addictions.  Clergy need not be innocent bystanders nor counselors. They can provide the unique support of pastoral care for the afflicted and the affected.
  • Pastoral Care and Mental Health Disorders Training
    Mental Health First Aid training has been taken by over 4 Million people. It is an evidence based program approved by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration.
  • Clergy Self-Care Training
    Clergy are renowned for neglecting their own physical and spiritual health which easily leads to behavioral health disorders. Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) is a training experience which is an evidence based practice approved by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration.
  • Interim Ministry Orientation
    This one-hour orientation will walk interim ministers through the guidelines developed for congregations after a behavioral health disorder – and help them understand where their resources are.
  • Behavioral Health Training for Judicatory Staff
    One Day In Person or Five Sessions Online. This program trains staff in the above policies and proven methods for managing clergy who have or may have a behavioral health disorder.
  • Policy Orientation
    This 30-60 minute training for all clergy is in development. It will help them understand how the above policies work and why they are needed.
